New or Visiting

We understand that sometimes, it can be hard to visit somewhere new.
We hope that we can make that a little easier for you by letting you know what you can expect at one of our services.

What to expect

When you arrive, you will be greeted by one of our welcomers.

Once the service begins, we will sing and pray. The bible will be read and explained. At some points of the service we will sit, others stand, we say prayers or creeds out loud together as a group. The person up the front running the service, will help in explaining when each of these things occurs. We also take part in Communion (Lord’s Supper) each week. You can find out more about the order of service here.

Kids at Church

For those with children, we welcome them into the service. There is a children’s teaching time called the Kids Spot within the service and there are quiet activities available for them. There is also a space in the Parish Centre for smaller children to move about and their carers can still hear the service.

Service Times

We have Three weekly services:
9:30am Sunday – Traditional Anglican Service
3:00pm Sunday – Down to earth service that is inclusive of all ages, stages, and abilities.

9:00am Thursdays – Informal Morning Prayer Service

Each service looks and runs a little differently from each other.

Sunday Mornings

Our Sunday Morning service follows the forms found in A prayer book for Australia. This service has a traditional feel and we welcome children within the whole of the service. Throughout the year at key moments in the church calendar the priest will robe to signify the occasion.

The majority of music is drawn from traditional hymns with the occasional contemporary song used. Usually the music is accompanied by an organ and when unavailable recorded music is used.

All in all, our morning service runs for roughly an hour and 15 minutes.

Afterwards, you’re welcome to stay and chat and have morning tea with us. We’d love to meet you.

Sunday afternoons

Our afternoon service takes a less formal approach to the Sunday service. This afternoon service is intentionally inclusive of people with disability, neurodiverse people, and people from low socio-economic backgrounds. We know that sitting still can be hard so you’re welcome to stand and move around if you need too.

Our service follows the same pattern of worship as our morning service. However, we’ve adapted the words to help more people connect and understand what’s going on. We use modern music led by a band and include time for discussion after the sermon.

The service runs for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Afterwards, you’re welcome to stay and chat and have afternoon tea and toasties with us. We’d love to meet you.

Thursdays

The Morning Prayer Service takes its form from A Prayer Book for Australia and runs quite informally. It is an opportunity to gather mid-week to read the bible and pray together – for the church, our community, and the world.

The service is about 30 minutes long.
