Our Church Vision
At the end of 2021 St Stephen’s Wynyard met to pray, plan and seek God. From these meetings we established our church’s mission, vision and values.
3 Year Vision
Under God, by 2024 we will have begun renewal and revitalisation of St Stephen’s Wynyard, so that we have become a viable, stable, and growing community of maturing, prayerful disciples with clear and intentional discipleship pathways. We will have diverse expressions of worship and be engaging the community, serving, and blessing the region of Wynyard.
We will achieve this by
- Start and establish a second service that is contemporary, prayerful, and distinct from the current service.
- Establish small group ministry for discipleship, and pastoral care that is prayerful and has a clear vision and leadership pipeline.
- Start and establish a youth ministry focus program with a dedicated ministry worker.
- Start and establish an effective and prayerful community engagement ministry.
10 Year Vision
Under God, by 2031 we will renew and revitalise St Stephen’s Wynyard to be a prayerful, flourishing, multi-generational community of spiritually mature disciples of Jesus. We will be ambassadors for God through whom everyone in the region of Wynyard may experience and enter the kingdom of God by repentance and faith in Jesus. We will be at the heart of North West Tasmania, a place of healing and hope where people can be equipped and enabled by the Holy Spirit to try new things and step out in faith for the kingdom of God.
We will know we have lived this out when:
- We are a well-resourced, prayerful, and generous community that can sustain a ministry team to meet the demands of the parish
- We have flourishing multiple services each with a clear identity, vision, and culture of prayer.
- We have a vibrant and prayerful youth ministry led by passionate, well-trained youth ministry staff.
- We have an established community focused ministry that champions the care of diverse peoples in the region of Wynyard.
